Who Is the Human Being? A Dialogue Between Science and Theology
The Slovak Lutheran congregation in Modra, with a population of approximately 10,000, is situated in the culturally rich and historically significant region of Bratislavský kraj, Slovakia. This area is known for its medieval heritage, vibrant arts scene, and technological advancements. Founded between 1535 and 1540, the congregation has played a pivotal role in advocating for social and cultural emancipation based on Reformation ideals. Modra's unique multiethnic and multiconfessional history fosters a climate of tolerance and coexistence, making it an ideal setting to explore profound questions about human identity. This project aims to engage both believers and non-believers in meaningful dialogue regarding human existence through a series of lectures that integrate biological, psychological, and theological perspectives. Additionally, the project will incorporate a missiological perspective, emphasizing the mission of the Christian church in the local community and the mutual benefits for both the church and its broader societal context.
